IPL mega auction 2022: Shardul Thakur Sold to DC for 10.75 crores

Shardul Thakur’s association with defending champions, CSK, has come to an end. He was bought by CSK in 2018 and was retained until 2022. After a fierce bidding war in the auction room, DC acquired Shardul’s all-around services. Sarcastically known as Lord Thakur, Shardul had a great 2021 since his useful contributions in the Gabba test match for India. Shardul Thakur is a proven wicket-taker and the Capitals were very eager to him in their team. While other teams requested time before placing every bid, DC were always sure of their intentions.

Shardul has a knack of picking crucial wickets and breaking partnerships. During the India vs England T20I series in 2021, Shardul frequently picked up two wickets in an over. As a result, people jokingly named him Lord Thakur. He kept performing with both bat and ball over the next few months and this name gained popularity. As mentioned above, he performed both with the bat and the ball. He has made numerous important contributions all this while which helped him strengthen his case at the auction.

DC and PBKS kept fighting till the end but it were DC who secured Shardul at 10.75 crores. Delhi Capitals have made a very strong-looking squad as of now and they will make sure they tick every box before signing off from Bengaluru tomorrow evening.
