A decent effort by CSK bowlers. RR finish with 175/8. It felt they would get more when Padikkal and Buttler were playing but Jadeja turned the game by picking Padikkal and Samson. In the end an cameo from Hetmyer took them past 170. Spin doing the trick again for CSK.
The target for CSK is 176 runs. CSK would hope dew makes an entry as Rajasthan have smartly strengthened their spin department by adding Zampa as an impact player. They also have quality spin in Ashwin and Chahal.
Will CSK chase this down??.. They must go hard in the powerplay because they don’t know for sure if dew will come in.. For RR they must bring Ashwin early to extract the returns from the wicket!… Another cracker of an encounters seems to be in making!!

The middle phase ended with Akash Singh dismissing Ashwin, claiming his maiden IPL wicket. Though Ashwin has done his job. He started slow, but unleashed his shot against the young pacer to smash him for two sixes. RR recover a little momentum after a quite period. Buttler is at the crease, and Hetmyer joins him in the middle. The perfect pair for RR to finish this innings.

CSK vs RR: Mid Innings Update!
The 9th over bowled by Ravindra Jadeja has just pulled it back a bit. Padikkal was going great guns and Buttler had started to tee off. He got Padikkal and Samson in a space of 3 deliveries. RR are 95/3 after 10 over. Jos Buttler and R Ashwin at crease. This is the third time Ashwin is batting at No.5 in the IPL. The last instance came against CSK at Brabourne last year.
Also, Jadeja has completed 200 wickets in T20 cricket!
Jadeja breaks the partnership!
The Chennai Super Kings needed that wicket very badly. The two were stepping on the accelerator and going after spin. They took Jadeja for 11 and Moeen for 18 off successive overs. The partnership was looking dangerous untill Jadeja broke it by dismissing Padikkal, Very smarlty he pushed this wide making him fetch the slogsweep resulting in a top edge and an easy catch to Conway.
And another one, 2 quick wickets for Jadeja. Now he has knocked over Sanju Samson. Â What a cracker. Samson falls for a duck again. Almost had the third one, Moeen drops another one at slips. RR – 88/3 (9 overs).

Rajasthan are off to a decent start, not a flyer this time but a quick one! Devdutt Padikkal is going great gun racing to 30 off 18. A bit of luck favoured Padikkal when Moeen Ali dropped a tough chance at first slip in the fifth over. Jos Buttler has been rotating strike at the other end and has completed 3000 runs in IPL. Rajasthan have made a positive start in the powerplay and promoting Padikkal to no. 3 is turning out to be a masterstroke.
