KKR vs GT: Live Score and Updates

KKR vs GT: Shankar’s storming fifty takes GT to the top!

Gujrat Titans have pulled off another successful run chase. 69 runs were needed from 36 balls, and GT got them in just 23 balls. Vijay Shankar was 7 off 9 and he ends up scoring at 24-ball fifty! Such a turnaround. Shankar and Miller launched a brutal assault on the KKR spinners Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma. They have aced another run-chase and won the game by 7 wickets. Lets shift our attention to other game, where SRH have opted to bat and have lost Mayank Agarwal early. Click here to follow the DC vs SRH game!

KKR vs GT: Suyash Sharma goes for 18!

The spinner did put a strangle hold on the GT batters but Miller decided to counter-attack and he went after young Suyash Sharma. The over has suddenly shifted the momentum and has pulled the required rate significantly. GT need 51 runs from 30 balls with Shankar and Miller at the crease. A lot of batting still to come. Can GT chase this?. Duh!! They should, this is their game to loose.

Harshit gets the breakthrough, Narine bags Gill!

The captain of the Titans departs. Full and slanted into middle and off stump. Hardik shuffles across and then plays all over it. Gets pinned on the pads and the umpire has no hesitation in raising his finger! This is plumb in front of the wicket. The pace has lead to his undoing! KKR strike at a crucial time!

NARINE BAGS GILL NOW!.. Shubman Gill is dismissed the very next over. This was full and Gill danced out to get under it to heave over mid-wicket. Didn’t get it off the middle and the batter knew immediately. He skies it and Russell takes a clean catch. They lose Pandya in the 11th over and Gill in the 12th over. Third wicket for KKR, GT 98/3 at the end of 12 overs . They need 82 more runs from 48 balls.

GT vs KKR: 91 runs more to win at the halfway mark!

Hardik Pandya has smashed Sunil Narine for a mighty blow over deep mid-wicket taking him for 11 runs in the over. The skipper of Gujrat Titans looks well set now and we may expect a few more to be launched into the crowd. GT 89/1 at the halfway stage.

GT vs KKR: Powerplay Done!

Game is nicely poised thanks to Gill’s attacking strokeplay in the powerplay. KKR’s spin choke could dictate how this game goes. Chakravarthy has started well, Expect Narine and Suyash to bowl now and choke the GT batters. We might have a close finish so you would want to stay tuned to the coverage of this game. GT 52/1 after 6 overs with Captian Pandya and Gill at the crease. Let us know in the comments who’s winning this and why?

Birthday Boy strikes!

Russell hasn’t put a foot wrong in this game tonight. He provided a blistering finish and now the breaks the dangerous looking opening stand by getting Saha. A good length delivery outside the off-stump and Saha wanted to hit this down the ground. He ends up dragging this to mid-wicket where captain Rana takes a simple catch. Much needed wicket for the Knight Riders, GT 41/1 (4.1 overs).

Impact Substitution!!

Shubman Gill is the impact player for the Titans and he comes out to open the batting. He has substituted Mohit Sharma. Knight Riders have substituted Venkatesh Iyer for leg-spinner Suyash Sharma. Both the batters are in the middle and the second innings begins.

KKR vs GT: GT restrict KKR to 179!

Excellent bowling performance by the Titans. Noor Ahmed and Josh Little have bowled magnificent spells to ensure KKR’s total remains in control. The birthday boy Russell displayed a power hitting exhibition before getting dismissed off the last ball of the innings. Despite that Russell show, Titans only gave 45 runs in the last 5 overs. Gurbaz top-scored with 81 and was one of the pillars of KKR’s batting today. KKR end with 179/7 after 20 Overs. The score is competitive but KKR might feel they are 15 runs short on this wicket. Overs 7-10 only yielded 23 runs and Venkatesh Iyer scored a 14-ball 11 in that phase.

Gujrat Titans need 180 runs to win from 120 balls. The wicket at Eden Gardens has been a batting beauty this season, so a target of 180 should not be scary at all. But then the fact is that the last nine games have been won by the team batting first. Will the streak break? The answer will be found in the next couple of hours So stay tuned!

Gurbaz plays a fine hand!

Noor Ahmed has dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 81. Very full delivery at the pads that seems to cramp Gurbaz up for room. He has a swing at it anyway but cannot generate the power and holes out a deep midwicket where Rashid Khan pouches the catch diving forward. This has been a gem of an innings, carried the KKR batting single-handedly till his wicket and has kept them in the hunt for a score of 180 or above.

KKR vs GT: KKR set up for a strong finish!

Kolkata Knight Riders are 134/4 after 15 overs. Gurbaz is playing well but has had very little help from other end. They are well placed to get 180 from here with Russell still to come. How many can they end up with?

Little traps Iyer in front!

This was a “You Miss I hit” delivery. Full and straight on the pads. Venky first backed a long way away, then moved inside to scoop. He missed and the ball tracking revealed that the ball was crashing into the middle stump. KKR have burned both their reviews on very ordinary decisions.

Well, Well..! Here’s a second wicket in the over for Joshua Little! He gets the captain of KKR Nitish Rana. Rana got a boundary of a thick edge on the previous ball. This ball was short and outside off and Rana cuts it straight to backward point. The delivery just stuck in the surface a bit. Gujrat Titans have stormed back as KKR slip to 88/4 at the end of 11 overs.

KKR vs GT: KKR keep the runs ticking!

The Knight Riders are placed pretty well here. They lost two wickets in the powerplay but have scored at a healthy rate. The duo of Iyer and Gurbaz have kept the scoreboard ticking after the powerplay. Gurbaz has notched up his second fifty of the season in the process. KKR 84/2 after 10 overs.

KKR vs GT: Grubaz maximizes the powerplay!

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has taken the attack to each and every bowler that bowled in the powerplay. He hit Hardik Pandya for two sixes, scored a four and a six each of Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan. He has raced to 39 runs off just 15 balls. KKR have started well here with 61/2 off the powerplay. Venky Iyer and Gurbaz at the crease.

Shardul fails to score after getting a promotion!/

The highest Shardul had batted before today was at No.4 in the IPL 2021 Qualifier for CSK vs DC in Dubai, wherein he registered a golden duck. He has suffered a similar fate today as he is dismissed for a 4-ball duck. And Mohit Sharma has taken a stunner to end Shardul’s innings. Mid-on had to run back, look over his right shoulder and then stretch full length forward but Mohit judged that to perfection. This is a fielder’s wicket.

GT strike first blood!

Jagadeesan played some wonderful shots through the point region. He was looking set today but unluckily Shami has ended his stay. This was a length delivery on the stumps, Jagadeesan moves across to flick and misses. It was plumb in front and Jagadeesan burns a review too. This was out the moment he missed the flick. KKR 23/1 after 3 overs.

Update (4:00 PM): The covers are coming off now. The match will start at 4:15 PM IST. There has been no reduction in overs.

Weather Update (3:20 PM): It is very dark overhead at the Eden Gardens. The covers are on and we might have a delayed start.

After four straight defeats, Nitish Rana’s Kolkata Knight Riders won their third game of the IPL 2024 season against RCB in their previous outing. They sit seventh in the points table. One of their three victories was by three wickets against the Titans. Rinku Singh hit five sixes in the last over to seal that victory.

The Titans have been on a roll this season, winning five of their first seven games. They have won their previous two games and beat the Mumbai Indians in their last trip. A captivating encounter is on the cards. Both teams would be hoping to get outcomes in their favour and move up the points table.

WHAT TO EXPECT?.. So far at Eden Gardens, four 200-plus totals have been scored in only six innings. 222 has been the average first innings total. The side batting first has won all three matches, but they have all been evening games, and it remains to be seen whether the conditions will be different for the afternoon contest. Records do suggest that the pitch won’t change much in a day game. Read the fantasy report here.
