Vince McMahon, the former Chairman of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has now made a controversial return to the company after he was previously left with no choice but to step down amidst sexual scandals.
The Millionaire Is Embedded In Controversy
Former WWE referee Rita Chatterton accused Vince McMahon of raping her in a limousine back in 1986. She demanded $11.75M in damages. Chatterton had previously come forwards with the allegations in 1992. She was the first female referee in the WWE.
Additionally, McMahon was alleged of using company money amounting to $12M to pay out non-disclosure agreements to various women. Four women since 2006, to be precise, One of them was reportedly forced into oral sex with McMahon and later fired when she resisted further advances from McMahon.
The disgraced Chairman decided to step down from his duties and ‘retire‘. But not before making sudden appearances on WWE television amidst ongoing investigations. The Disgraced Return of Vince McMahon
Vince McMahon announced that he shall be returning to the company’s Board of Directors. He insists that he is returning to the company to solely pursue a sale of the WWE. But many feel that the creative direction of the WWE will be hampered as a consequence of his return. Additionally, the backstage morale had drastically improved after McMahon’s exit. Triple H even brought back many of the talent that McMahon had fired.
In order for Vince McMahon and former WWE Co-Presidents George Barrios and Michelle Wilson to return to the Board of Directors, JoEllen Lyons Dillon, Jeffrey R. Speed and Alan M. Wexler were removed.
Ignace Lahoud and Man Jit Singh have consequently resigned from the Board of WWE. Man Jit Singh was the leading internal investigator on the Vince McMahon scandal. Also Read: AJ Styles out of action after suffering horror injury
