2023 women’s Royal Rumble winner, Rhea Ripley has now announced who her WrestleMania 39 opponent will be.
A Shot At Retribution For Rhea Ripley
On the recent edition of Monday Night RAW, 2023 women’s Royal Rumble winner Rhea Ripley chose her WrestleMania opponent. The winner of the women’s Royal Rumble could challenge either of the following three – Charlotte Flair (SmackDown Women’s Champion), Bianca Belair (RAW Women’s Champion) and Roxanne Perez (NXT Women’s Champion).
With an eye for retribution and vengeance, Ripley chose Charlotte Flair, the woman who defeated her at WrestleMania 36 for the NXT Women’s Championship. Ripley and the 14-time women’s world champion Flair have come back full circle and will meet yet again at the grandest stage of them all.

Not Their First Encounter
In 2020, Flair was the winner of the women’s Royal Rumble. In a rare turn of events, she decided to go after Rhea Ripley and her NXT Women’s Championship instead of the RAW or SmackDown Women’s Championship. Flair triumphed over Ripley to become a two-time NXT Women’s Champion.
In long term story-telling this encounter makes perfect sense. Ripley trying to redeem herself and cement her legacy while Charlotte Flair has a date with Judgement Day at WrestleMania 39.

Rhea Ripley will also be looking to add to her WrestleMania success. At WrestleMania 37, Ripley had her first ‘WrestleMania moment’ when she defeated The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. Will fate repeat once again for Rhea Ripley, but this time for the SmackDown Women’s Championship? Or will we see ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair triumph once again?
