In the world of football, Senegal has made a decent name, portraying them as an excellent competitor to other teams. They made their first appearance in the 2002 edition of the FIFA World cup. The second appearance took a hiatus of 16 long years which was completed in 2018.

The 2002 World Cup was very special for Senegal. Being their first World Cup, toast to their great performance as they qualified for the quarter-finals. The journey was memorable and also a great experience for them.

Additionally, in a group with great teams like Denmark, Uruguay, and France, they still managed to earn the second spot on the table. In their first match, they defeated France by 1-0 where Bouba Diop was the scorer. They were advancing by either getting a draw or winning however they won only 1 match out of 3 in their group stage. They qualified for the Round of 16 where they defeated Sweden by 2-1 and H. Their successful run ended when Turkey eliminated Senegal in the Quarter Finals. However, it was the time when Senegal was happy to see their performance against such great teams and also the best we could say.

Finally, After 16 Senegal returned back to the FIFA World cup again however this time they couldn’t even make it to the round of 16. They were eliminated by using the fair play rule after being tied with Japan on the first six tiebreakers and they were the first team in the whole of FIFA history who got eliminated like this.

This time in the 2022 world Cup, We believe Senegal will be the most dominating team in their group stage. Players like Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Edouard Mendy are some bigger names in the Football World and will give a top-notch clash to other teams.

In Group A, Senegal will compete alongside Qatar, Netherlands, and Ecuador. Due to their great FIFA experience whenever they qualified, they are considered the team that can finish the group stage on top.

They won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Egypt on penalties. Marking that they can be the team with a great chance to at least make it to the Round of 16. We expect Senegal to easily defeat Qatar and Ecaudor. However, The Dutch will put up a fight. Although we are not ruling out a victory against them, It will be a hard task.
