CSK fans, there’s a piece of delightful news for you: Former CSK player, Faf du Plessis, back with the franchise for the CSA T-20 League.
CSA T-20 League: Six IPL franchises have bought franchises in the CSA T20 league. According to the league’s rules, each of these six teams had to pre-sign five players. Also has to keep following in regard- three overseas, a South African capped player, and an uncapped South African player. This signing needed to be done before the final auction proceeds. Hence the CSK franchise cracks the deal by having Faf du Plessis back with them.
Joburg Super Kings squad
Johannesburg-based franchise, owned by Chennai Super Kings Sports Ltd, has chosen former CSK and current RCB player, Faf du Plessis as the captain after signing him for USD 375,000 prior to the auction.

Faf du Plessis’s journey with CSK
Faf du Plessis started his IPL journey with CSK. After playing for CSK for a decade (2011-2021), RCB bought him for the most recent IPL season. Now that he is back with the former franchise, fans would like to recall his wonderful performances for CSK.
38-year old, du Plessis bid a fabulous farewell to his former team CSK in IPL 2021. As he scored a total of 633 runs in only 16 games with an amazing average of 45.21. One performance of du Plessis a CSK fan could never get enough of is his partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. As it was one of the main reasons behind CSK’s victory in the same edition.
Other additions to the team
The franchise also signed their current CSK players, Moeen Ali for USD 400,000 and Maheesh Theekshana for USD 375,000.
The third overseas player they signed was West Indies all-rounder Romario Shepherd for USD 175,000. Uncapped CSA player. Gerald Coetzee has also been signed by the team for USD 50,000.
In addition, the franchise reportedly looks to appoint former kiwi skipper and current CSK coach Stephen Flaming as head coach.
Hence, CSK fans will see familiar faces playing for their former or present IPL franchise in the CSA T-20 league.
