O’Neal was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA Draft. This happened after playing college basketball for the LSU Tigers. He earned Rookie of the Year in 1992–1993 and guiding his club to the 1995 NBA Finals. He then, immediately established himself as one of the league’s top centres. O’Neal joined the Magic for four years before signing with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agency. They achieved three straight title victories in 2000, 2001, and 2002.
