The three-match ODI series between India and Zimbabwe is scheduled to take place later this month, however, the Indian batter KL Rahul isn’t a part of the team. According to a report, Rahul’s hamstring problem has returned. He had a strong claim to be the team’s captain for the series, but the injury disqualified him.
Rahul will want to heal before the team selection for the Asia Cup 2022, which is scheduled to take place in the following 10 days. According to Insidesport, the right-hander will take a fitness test before the squad announcement.

Rahul hasn’t participated in an international cricket match since the IPL 2022. After the IPL 2022, he was forced to miss the home T20I series against South Africa. He was supposed to lead his T20I team for the first time throughout the series. Rahul also was appointed vice-captain for the entire UK trip, although he was unable to participate in the series.
He was slated to return in the current five-match T20I series against the West Indies. However, Rahul tested COVID-19 positive last week, he was unable to go to the West Indies. The Men in Blue will be led by Shikhar Dhawan during the forthcoming Zimbabwe tour.
