According to the English media, the transfer of Youri Tielemans is getting closer day by day as Arsenal are planning to submit a bid soon. The Belgian is in the final year of his contract with Leicester City despite the best offers that the board of Leicester could make to the midfielder, he now seems to leave the club in the near future. He joined them in 2018 for a reported transfer fee of 25 Million Pounds.

Tielemans priority is to play for a club that’ll play in the Champions League but Arsenal are a team who have just missed out on UCL football on the last matchday of the Premier League. However Tielemans really likes the way Arsenal play and hence he is keen to play under Arteta. The Arsenal coach is reportedly pushing the Gunners to sign the midfielder as he is looking to increase his team’s depth in the midfield. If Tielemans joins the London club he is undoubtedly going to be a key part of Arteta’s plans who could likely play alongside Thomas Partey and Martin Odeggard.
But with his contract coming to an end in 2024, this is probably the last opportunity for Leicester to gain any sort of transfer fee for the Belgian as he could sign a pre-contract with another club this January which will make him leave for free. Having spent already 25 Million Pounds on him to sign him from Monaco, it looks like they could gain back most of the fee if they decide to let him go to Arsenal this transfer window. All in all, he could be the final piece of the puzzle for Arteta to gain Champions League football once again.
