IPL Mega auction has been going on in Bangalore this weekend. Franchises have been going aggressive in the bidding. Mumbai Indians had shocked everyone for their limited purchases on the first day of the auction. However, on the second day, they made some big investments. Buying Jofra Archer knowing he won’t be available for this year was a big decision. However, it is sure that Bumrah and Archer together will lead MI’s bowling attack in the upcoming seasons. Early in the accelerated bidding, Mumbai bought Daniel Sams and Tymal Mills. Moreover, they’ve shown an interest in buying Romario Shepherd, but SRH bought him at 7.75 crores INR. In addition, Tim David was bought by Mumbai Indians for a massive 8.25 crores INR.

David came to the auction at a base price of Rs 40 lakhs. The early bidders for the Singaporean cricketer were Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. The bidding battle was layer joined by Punjab Kings and Lucknow Supergiants too. However, the teams kept coming in and out in the bidding. KKR has been quite consistent in having Tim David on their squad. Later, at 4.4 crores, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders were bidding fierce for the all-rounder. Surprisingly, when other teams gave him up CSK and MI joined the bidding. It became a three-way affair, the bid crossed 7 crores. Kolkata was not ready to give Tim. However, the 5 times champion Mumbai Indians had made their intentions clear. Resultantly, Mumbai Indians bought Tim David at 8.25 crores INR.

Tim David plays for Singapore national team. In addition, he plays for various T20 Leagues. In the IPL 2022, he was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad. He became the first player from Singapore to play be picked in the IPL. Currently, Tim David is playing in Pakistan Super League 2022, he has hit the most sixes (19) by far, in 7 matches.
