The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction is taking place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13 and the focus of the entire cricket world shifts to the Garden City. 10 teams, including the two new teams entered the mega auction 2022. As many as 590 players, including 370 players from India, were shortlisted from a long list of over 1000 players who signed up for the IPL 2022 mega auction. Each team had a maximum purse of Rs 90 crore out of which all 10 franchises have used up money for retentions and draft picks. Lets have a look at IPL Auction 2022: Faf du Plessis bought by RCB:

IPL Mega Auction 2022

Du Plessis walked away with a price tag of INR 7 Crore as proposed by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). CSK fans are very unhappy as the franchise failed to bring him back in the team. He was released by them to retain MS Dhoni in the team. Talking of Du Plessis, in his total 100 IPL games so far, he has collected 2935 runs while averaging at 34.94. Therefore, he can definitely be an upper hand to the team.

Francois “Faf” du Plessis is a South African international cricketer and former captain of the South Africa national cricket team. He has been in stellar form as an opener for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In 2020, du Plessis collected 449 runs in the 13 matches and returned with an average of 40.81. Also, in the 14th edition of the IPL, the right-handed batsman aggregated 633 runs in the 16 matches including six fifties.
