Anthony Davis Expresses His Ultimate Goal For the Season

As per Anthony Davis winning the MVP title isn’t his ultimate goal. Joining in the post-match presser, David admitted that such feats are attained when the final aim is set at winning the championship. Iterating his crystal-clear mindset, David announced, “To win a championship,” when asked about his intentions to win his first Maurice Podoloff Trophy. As he explained further, he clarified that being with the team and playing as a unit is his number 1 priority at the moment.

“That’s it. If your mindset is on winning a championship, the rest will take care of itself. That’s always been my thought. I put the team first over any individual awards or accolades that come with it. So if we continue to do what we do and win basketball games, the rest will take care of itself,” Davis said.

Davis’s score of over 50 while clinching a 130-119 win for the Lakers over the Wizards came as his second-most points scored within a career spanning 11 years. And with his 55 points stat, he equaled Shaquille O’Neal to become the only player to score over 40 points and 10+ rebounds consecutively in back-to-back games for the Lakers. With their third straight win in the season, the Lakers are now placed at No. 6 in the Western Conference.
