Steven Bergwijn’s Career So Far
The 24-year-old winger first started his career at PSV Eindhoven, joining and debuting for their youth setup in late 2014.
After debuting for the first team in 2017, he became a regular starter at the club, making 112 league appearences for the Boeren and scoring 29 goals.
He signed a 5-year contract with then-Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho in the winter transfer window of 2020, for a fee reported to be around £26.7 million. His Spurs career began with a bang, as he came on as a substitute and scored the second goal in a memorable 2-0 victory over league champions Manchester City.
During the 2020/21 season, he quickly fell out of favour at the club due to poor performances and the sacking of Mourinho as Spurs manager near the end of the season.
