Lionel Messi is playing the last few moves in the game of chess as a player of PSG. The clock is ticking and so is his contract, he will be leaving France this summer when his contract comes to an end. Earlier this year, it was predicted that he will be having a contract extension but PSG had an earlier exit. This helped Messi to change his mind.
After PSG lost against Lorient, a training season was hosted the next day. But Messi caused a stir as he flew to Saudi Arabia on an unsanctioned trip. This resulted in a two-week unpaid suspension for the World Cup winner. Read More- Barcelona confirm their Interest, Messi Might Return Home
Now Fabrizio Romanio reports in his latest tweet regarding the departure of the Argentine Player. His tweet reads- “Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season. There are no doubts about that anymore.
Behind the scenes, it’s now understood that Leo’s father Jorge communicated the decision to PSG already one month ago due to the project.
It was the final breaking point.”
Messi is already an ambassador for tourism in Saudi Arabia. But for the trip, he will miss a couple of clashes that will be against Troyes and Ajaccio. Jorge, the father of Messi, communicated the decision last month. Though he has a third-year clause attached to the contract, that will not be triggered as both parties seem uninterested in the extension.
Messi left Barcelona in the summer of 2021 amid the financial crises and PSG snatched him and offered a whopping £52m a year contract. Though he has been going through a phenomenal spell, he not only won the World Cup but also scored 20 goals and assisted 19 times in the season in total. But the relationship between both the player and the club is going through a rough patch and this might be the last season where Messi plays in France.
