Barcelona Legend Sergio Busquets is destined to leave the club at the end of this season. The club captain had a glorious career and one more league title will be added to his throne.
The 34 year old Spanish midfielder had been a pivotal part of Barca’s squad. This week, Barca will be facing Espanyol and can wrap the league race up in their rival’s home ground. This will be the last trophy that he wins at the Spanish club.
On Wednesday, Barcelona announced that the midfielder will be leaving the side. What will be a future destination? Saudi clubs are ahead in terms of signing him. He also has some offers from MLS clubs that he can consider.
“It has been an honor, a draw and a source of pride to have been able to wear this badge but everything must come to an end,” Busquets told club channels.

He has 719 appearances for the Catalan club, 3 most in the history of Barcelona. He has been one of the most crucial aspects of Barca’s history. Busquets mixed simplicity with style, he was the silent assassin in the games. Though on paper, he lacked goals and assists as a midfielder, he was the one who held the nerves of the entire game.
Andres Iniesta once said this about Busqi, “The perfect player? Falcao’s ability in the air, [Carles] Puyol’s personality, Xavi’s right foot, [Lionel] Messi’s talent and left foot, [Sergio] Busquets’ tactical awareness and Cristiano’s eye for goal.”
