Dusan Vlahovic and Leandro Paredes secured the victory for the Old Lady of Italy in their clash against Lecce. With two first-half strikes, they secure a victory with a 2-1 scoreline and gain the advantage in the battle of the top four. Though Napoli sits comfortably in first place, Juve clutches their way to the 2nd place.
This win ends a five-match winless run by Juventus and the volley of Vlahovic establishes itself as a statement for the top four. Though they were hit by a point deduction, in the later period of the tournament, they got the points back. And now they are again fighting for a top European spot.

Parades were back in the starting line-up and scored a goal with a perfect free-kick. It was his first goal of the season. Vlahovic also had a great day in the office as he scored his first goal since February 7. There are rumors and speculations regarding his departure, he didn’t fail to perform on the big stage.
It took 15 min for Parades to register his name on the scoresheet. 12 minutes after that, Lecce was rewarded with a penalty for handball. Lecce capitalized on that occasion. 3 minutes passed and Juventus had their term as Vlahovic scored a stunning volley.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri shared some updates in the post-match interview. The first one was regarding the injury of Mattia De Sciglio as he was substituted in the 32nd minute.
“Unfortunately, Mattia has a lesion to the cruciate ligament. He was in good shape, playing well, he will have time to recover and get back to playing.”
The stunning Vlahovic goal was enough to be commented on. “He scored an extraordinary goal and I think improved as the game went on, running into space, in duels with close marking. Unfortunately, he had never experienced this sort of thing, as he came from Fiorentina where everything went well for him, but every player has a period like this in their careers. He just needed to stay calm and get through it. I hope it can be a starting point for him and for Juventus.”
Juve is putting up a strong fight for the Champions League spots and this victory makes them one of the favorites if not the favorite team to qualify after Napoli. Allegri said in his interview, “It doesn’t matter if we are against Atalanta, Milan, Lecce, or Cremonese, the important thing is to get a certain number of points. I think if you don’t get 72 or 73 points, you are unlikely to finish in the top four. This weekend will have some important head-to-head clashes, so on Sunday evening I think we’ll know what points tally is needed for the Champions League.”
