The top four fight for Serie A is getting more and more interesting with every passing match day. Atalanta, Juventus, and Inter, all registered victories in their games, and now, the fight is even closer. With this victory, Inter enters the top four spot with 60 pints in 33 matches.
Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez registered their names on the scoresheet as both of them helped Inter to steam through Verona with a 6-0 scoreline. A long-range strike from Hakan Calhanoglu gave them the pace after the first goal was scored in favor of Inter. In the 31st minute of the match, Haich scored an own goal. 36th Minute of the match and Calhanoglu opened the scoresheet and was followed by Dzeco a minute after.

The victory gave them a jumping pad for the future encounter between AC Milan and Inter in the semi-final of UCL. Though Inter was great in the first half, they become ruthless in the second half. Lautaro scored his first in the 55th Minute of the match. Acerbi assisted Dzeko’s second goal of the match in the 61st minute. In the dying moments of the match, MartÃnez scored his second in the 92nd minute of the match.
This is the third brace by Dzeko and the second most two or more goals he scored in a season. In the 2017-18 season, he had four multi-goal matches. The Striker seems to enjoy his time over at Inter.
Aftermath of the match
Though Verona stands in the relegation zone, they were unable to give any competition. They provided a breath of fresh air and a whole to of confidence for Inter. It was not just a statistical victory for the but also a psychological one.
They will be facing Roma in their UCL Spot deciding clash on Saturday while Verona will fight to be on the top flight of Italian football.
