Los Indios to lock horns with Los Blancos in a fiery Madrid Classico

The Madrid Derby of today is their 230th head to head game across all competitions.

Madrid: Just below the El Classico, El Derbi Madrileño is yet another fiery rivalry adorning the La Liga. Fought in might and luster, The Madrid Clubs give it all to garner not just points but relief. The fiery Madrid Classico has gone down in history a whopping 229 times. Real Madrid has won 113 of them, Atletico 57 while drawing 59. The Blancos and The Indios are locking horns once more at 12:30 IST at the latter’s home ground

The Whites aka Los Blancos are currently placed second below FC Barcelona. Real Madrid has not lost a single game in the season so far. They started the season with a 2-1 victory over Almeria, followed by 4-1 against Celta Vigo. They continued their dominance by defeating Espanyol 3-1, Real Betis 2-1, and Mallorca 4-1. On the other hand, Atletico is seventh with three wins, a loss, and a draw. The Indians began their season defeating Getafe in style. The taste of success followed a bitter loss against Villareal. However, they defeated Valencia 1-0 in the match week. A draw against Sociedad and a victory against Celta Vigo followed the victory against Valencia.

In their previous outing, On 9th May 2022, Atletico nailed Real Madrid 1-0. Yannick Carasco scored the only goal for the Red-and-Whites. The Los Blancos roots on the former Atletico player Courtois to watch out the net. Toni Kroos can wield magic in the midfield while Modric can shake the nets with long ranges. In the absence of star player Karim Benzema, Vinicius Jr has a lot of weight on his shoulders. The Brazilian will have to amp us his game and score for his team.

On the other hand, Atletico weighs on Morata, a former Madrid player to challenge the Blancos’ defense. Joao Felix will have to kickstart his season and score. In the defense, The Indios expect Koke to bring his A-Game and nettle Real’s offensive side. Antoine Griezmann can be a key substitute in the game since he is not allowed to play full-time. The latter fact can either be an advantage or a disadvantage to Hala Madrid.

Griezman not playing full-time in his form is an advantage for sure. The recent pattern shows Griezman being subbed around the 60th minute. By that time, Madrid’s forward and the team can be a little weary, thus creating holes for the French to strike.
