But in this Test Match, England showed some resistance. Australia were brilliant with the bat and ball both. Before the match, Travis Head tested positive for Coronavirus and Usman Khawaja made his comeback in this Test Match. And what a comeback this is from Usman Khawaja. He scored centuries in both the innings of the Test match. He played a brilliant innings in both the innings but he was also not sure that whether he will get a place in Playing XI in the final Test match of the fourth Test match. Usman Khawaja, for his brilliant comeback innings, was adjudged as the Man of the Match in Australia vs England 4th Test Match. Khawaja was not playing Test Matches for Australia for some time now. But he performed very well in this season of County Championship. And his brilliant performance in the County Championship earned him a Test recall for Australia. In the first innings, Khawaja scored 137 runs off 260 balls. He really hold the one end and the wickets were felling from the other end. In the second innings, Australia were in trouble with the fall of early wickets, but he stood once again. He scored an unbeaten 101* runs and that also with a good strike rate of 70+. But, after playing such a memorable match, he is not sure about his place in the final Test Match of the series.

First Innings

Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bat first in the fourth Test Match. David Warner and Marcus Harris made a 50-run partnership but Warner got out just after the 50 run partnership. Then, Labuschagne also made a good partnership with Marcus Harris. Warner, Harris, Labuschagne all got starts but they didn’t capitalize on that. Steven Smith also scored 67 runs. But all the highlights were taken by Usman Khawaja. He scored 137 runs and what an innings on his comeback. Though, the middle order can’t contribute much to the total. But, Mitchell Starc did a very great job by scoring 34* runs. Australia declared on 416 runs with 8 wickets. Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers as he took 5 wickets in an innings.

The non performing batting lineup of England were under immense pressure with such a huge lead on their shoulders. Once again, England openers failed. This is becoming a regularity nowadays. They came to just throw away their wicket. England top order rattled by the Australian bowling lineup with Joe Root getting out on a duck. Though, Stokes and Bairstow provided some resistance. Stokes played an innings of 66 runs and this is first promising innings by him after the injury. Jonny Bairstow scored a brilliant counterattacking hundred. He scored a Test Century after a couple of years. In the end, Mark Wood played a brilliant cameo of 39 runs of just 41 balls. England managed to score 294 runs with the loss of their 10 wickets. Australia now have a lead of 122 runs.

Second Innings

Australia already have a lead of 122 runs and there is not much time remaining in this Test Match due to persistent rain in the couple of days. This time, David Warner got out cheaply on just 3 runs. The top order of Australia didn’t perform well. Harris, Smith and Labuschagne all got out without scoring much. But then Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green made a brilliant partnership and took out their team out of the trouble. And Khawaja, once again put up a brilliant show with the bat. He, once again, scored a fabulous ton but this time with a counterattacking approach. Cameron Green also gave him company as he brought up his second fifty in Test Matches for Australia. And Australia declared on the score of 265 runs. England now have to chase 387 runs.

Who Won MOM In AUS VS ENG 4th Test

The England openers had a huge pressure on them with a huge total of 387 on them and also with their batting performances in the past matches. Haseeb Hameed once again can’t contribute much to the total. But Zak Crawley stood up when England needed him the most. He scored 77 runs. Joe Root failed once again in this Test match. Stokes, once again was brilliant. England were nine down and they still need to survive the 5-6 overs. All the fielders were surrounded to the bat. But the duo of Stuart Broad and James Anderson took England home with a memorable Test Match draw. England’s tail enders stood tall against the mighty bowling lineup of Australia.
