Karachi: Just a few hours after KL Rahul became the third fastest cricketer to reach 2000 runs in T20I, Rizwan bettered it. Mohammed Rizwan reached the milestone feat as he lead his team’s batting order against the mighty English. Mohammed Rizwan is currently the joint fastest to 2000 runs. But, Who tops the list? #5 Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, one of the most heard names in the world of T20Is. With multiple other feathers to his name, Finch is the most successful Australian captain in T20Is. As of the 1st T20I against Australia, Aaron Finch has 2877 runs from 93 innings which includes 2 centuries and 17 half-centuries.

Aaron Finch reached the milestone mark of 2000 runs against England on 4th September 2020. Finch took 62 innings to reach the feat, a whopping 9 years and 236 days since his career took off.

#4 K Lokesh Rahul

KL Rahul, hailing from Karnataka, made a name for himself when he thrashed the Zimbabweans by becoming one of the cricketers with century on debut ODI. Rahul has not looked back ever since. He has kept being an efficient player who makes heavy effort to rectify his mistakes and learn.

Rahul breached the 2000 run mark in just 58 innings, four more than Finch. Rahul managed to join the list on 22th September 2022 against Australia by knocking 55 off 35 balls. KL Rahul in his attempt took his tally to 2018 runs with a strike rate excess of 141.

Virat Kohli has played 97 innings in his T20I Career scoring more than 3500 runs, being one of the three batters in Men’s cricket to have crossed 3000 runs. He has a century and 32 half-centuries in his name. Virat Kohli crossed the mark of 2000 runs in just 56 innings while the Men In blue played England. Kohli’s 2000 runs milestone came on 3rd July, 2018 at Manchester. Surprsingly, the match was KL Rahul’s first century in the format.

#2 Mohammed Rizwan

Peshawar-born Mohammed Rizwan is the latest joiner in Top Five Cricketers To 2000 T20I Runs. The 30-year-old marked his place in the world in the latest Asia Cup where he was a star in itself.

Rizwan smashed 68 runs off 42 balls on 20th September 2022 against England. The Opening Wicketkeeper tried to do his maximum to sail his team to victory. Rizwan took 52 innings in 63 matches to cross the 2000 runs line. Adding to his special moment is the fact that it was the first T20I featuring England in Pakistan, years after England comes to Pak Soil. He also became the holder of the most fifty-plus scores in a T20I by a wicketkeeper, 17.

#1 Babar Azam

Babar Azam established himself as one of the most prolific players of 21st century on a very short period of time. Azam debuted in T20I on September 7th 2016 rushing up to become Pakistan’s best quite quickly.

Azam reached the milestone mark in just 52 innings and a very short timespan of 4 years and 230 days. The second-placed Rizwan took exactly the same number of innings but Azam leads on terms of matches, 54. Azam’s feat came against Zimbabwe on 25th April 2021 at Harare. The Lahore born 27-year-old has scored 2785 runs in Twenty 20 Internationals. Azam, played 76 innings to date in which he has notched up a century and 26 other half centuries.
