SRH captain Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, Know the reason

Kane has managed to score only 216 runs in 13 games this season, his strike rate has been a disappointing 93.51.

SRH skipper Kane Williamson hasn’t been at his classic form this season. He has been struggling to contribute to the team with the bat. However, his captaincy has worked well in the previous game against MI. As the youngster Priyam Garg assisted the in-form SRH batter Rahul Tripathi, the team had put a target of 194 for MI to chase. The next match will be very crucial for SRH. Winning it with a good margin will keep them alive in the contest. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad announced that skipper Kane Williamson will be missing the match, as he is flying back to New Zealand.

Kane Williamson is expecting his second child with his wife Sarah Raheem. The couple had a lovely daughter in December 2022. Sarah is expecting for the second time. Therefore, Kane is returning home mid-way through the IPL 2022. Moreover, Nicholas Pooran or Bhuvneshwar Kumar are expected to lead SRH in his absence. Earlier, Shimron Hetmyer had left the Rajasthan Royals to welcome his first child. He has returned back and completed the quarantine. Therefore, Hetmyer will be available for Delhi’s next contest.

SRH stands at the 8th position on the Points Table. Sunrisers Hyderabad has won their previous contest against Mumbai Indians by 3 runs. However, their hopes to qualify are still not very strong. They’d have to win their last contest with a significant margin. They’ll be facing the struggling Punjab Kings which stand at 7th. But, that would not be enough as the other team’s results will also be determining their chances.
