SL vs IRE: 1st Test Day 3
Lorcan Tucker and Andy McBrine got Ireland off to a good start, scoring 26 runs in the opening six overs. Tucker, in particular, attempted to get the score going, taking Vishwa Fernando for three boundaries in an over, one of which came off the edge of his bat.
Prabath Jayasuriya, who had a 5-wicket haul to his name joined the act. He picked Tucker and Adair and ended up with the numbers 7-52. The Irish managed 143 runs in their first innings.

Sri Lanka elected to enforce the follow-on with a 448-run advantage in the first innings and were promptly rewarded. Fernando defeated Commins for the second time in the match. He threw a catch to point off a leading edge. Sri Lanka’s opening bowler quickly added another wicket to his tally. He caught the edge of skipper Andrew Balbirnie with a fast, seaming delivery off the back of a length. Ireland were 41/5 at one stage.
However, Harry Tector and Curtis Campher stayed strong after the break and soon reached their fifty partnership.

Sri Lanka broke the partnership and chipped away with Irish wickets. Ireland were bowled out for 168 in the second innings. Sri Lanka completed an anhhilating victory over the visitors. They won the game by an innings and 280 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series.
