For New Zealand, Will Young played a fabulous inning of 87 off 91 with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Tom Latham with 59 off 58 added crucial runs. Furthermore, Mark Chapman, Cole McConchie and Rachin also contributed 43, 26 and 28 runs respectively. For Pakistan Shaheen Afridi 3/46 was the best bowler with an economy of 4.6. While Usama Mir and Shadab Khan got 2-2 wickets.
Before the fifth match, Pakistan was leading 4-0 in the series. Pakistan won the first ODI by 5 wickets with Fakhar Zaman’s century. In the second ODI, Pakistan won by 7 wickets chasing 336 runs. Fakhar Zaman played a brilliant innings of 180* off 144 in the 2nd ODI. The third and the fourth match also went in the favour of Pakistan by 26 runs and 102 runs respectively.
Fakhar Zaman became the player of the series. He scored 351 runs in five innings with an average of 90.75. In his five innings, he smashed 2 hundred. For New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell scored 297 runs in 4 innings with 2 hundred. Haris Rauf, 9 wickets in 4 innings, became the leading wicket-taker. Shaheen Afridi and Matt Henry also picked up 8-8 wickets in this series.
Two days ago Pakistan was the number 1 ODI team. But, now Pakistan with 112 points has slipped to number 3 in the latest ICC ODI ranking. Australia, with 113 points, are at the top while India are at the No. 2 spot with 113 points as well.
