Orange Cap Winner 2022: Who is the highest run-scorer in IPL 2022?

The coveted title might have eluded RR again but the Royals camp had plenty of positives this season.

Rajasthan Royals’ stellar campaign came to a heartbreaking end after debutants Gujarat Titans thumped them in the finals in a low-scoring encounter. However, dreams may not meet the reality, yet it was a refreshing campaign for the Men In Pink in a long time.

One of the biggest reasons behind Rajasthan Royals’ mega-success was their star opener, Jos Buttler. The Englishman took the stage ablaze with his bat punishing even the best of bowlers all around the park. With 863 runs to his name, Buttler remained the numero uno in the list of leading run-scorers for the major part of the season. And thus deservedly won the Orange Cap. With 4 stellar tons, the flamboyant cricketer equalled Kohli’s record of most hundreds scored in a single season.

Statistics show how Buttler single-handedly outclassed the opposition each time he took the field. In 17 games, he scored at an average of 57.53 and a monstrous strike rate of 149.05. Buttler smashed 4 fifties and 4 centuries. His last ton came against RCB in the Eliminator where his heroics with the willow kept the opposition at the bay during the high-pressure run chase. No doubt, why the RR camp considers him a priceless asset to the team.
