Ex-Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni took to her Twitter handle to question the Jharkhand Government over the frequent power cut in the state. Sakshi’s tweet came amid reports of a coal shortage in the state. In April the country usually has heatwaves. This year, Jharkhand has been recording temperatures above 40 degrees in most parts already. A heatwave has been predicted in districts Garhwa, Girdhi, Ranchi, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Chatra, Bokaro, Koderma, Palamu, Garhwa till April 28th.
Sakshi Dhoni questioned why the common people have to live without electricity when there has been a prediction of high temperatures issued in the state. She asked “As a taxpayer of Jharkhand just want to know why is there a power crisis in Jharkhand since so many years? we are doing our part by consciously making sure we save energy!” In addition, Sakshi has urged the stakeholders to ensure an undisturbed supply of electricity.

RK Singh, Union Minister of Power had met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to discuss the efficient transport of coal. Moreover, the unhindered coal supply to powerplants is the first step to ensuring sufficient power supply. In addition, the minister urged the Power Gencos to combat constraints in power supply. Other Coal and Power PSU representatives also attended the virtual meet.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is playing for CSK in IPL 2022. However, the team’s performance hasn’t been up to par. The team has won only 2 matches out of the 8 they’ve played.
