In a fairly entertaining incident, Axar Patel was seen trying to shield himself from an Ishan Kishan throw during the second One-Day International between India and Zimbabwe on Saturday (August 20) in Harare.
Deepak Hooda entered the attack in the 28th over of Zimbabwe’s innings. And bowled the second ball of his second over. The ball went towards the deep square leg region. Ishan was forced to throw the ball in the direction of the bowler. Ishan Kishan swung the ball quickly towards the wicket and Patel, who was standing in the midwicket area, had to duck for cover to save himself from the throw.
The all-rounder sat down and attempted to cover his head with his hands after being startled to see the ball moving so quickly towards him. However, he was unable to prevent the ball from striking his body, which made him angry. Later, Axar was spotted staring at Ishan. The young wicketkeeper-batter immediately put his hand up for an apology. However, Ishan didn’t do it intentionally. But he had to face the all-rounder’s wrath, which was even noticed by the commentators as well.

Coming back to the match, India chose to bowl first after winning the toss, and Mohammed Siraj gave the visiting team a strong start with the new ball. But when it came to bowling, India’s Shardul Thakur stood out, taking three wickets to help his team dismiss Zimbabwe for 161 runs. One wicket each was taken by Axar, Siraj, Hooda, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna.
