After distorting 2 IPL seasons consecutively, Covid19 is back again, making its way back in IPL 2022. Recently, Delhi Capitals‘ Physio Patrick Farhart turned Covid Positive and was showing mild symptoms after the Rapid Antigen Test conducted before DC’s scheduled travel day. Notably, the entire DC squad had returned COVID-19 negative, before their match against RCB. But ensuring covid protocols, no handshakes were allowed post the match to curb the risk of infection spread. The entire Delhi Capitals squad had been forced into isolation with the team undergoing RT-PCR test on Monday and Tuesday.Â
Adding fuel in the fire, Fresh reports came in later that day about Mitchell Marsh who tested positive for Covid-19 with CT value of 17 and had to be hospitalised. Along with him some support staffs too tested positive, the Capitals said in a statement.
Today evening New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Tim Seifert became the 2nd Delhi Capitals player to test positive for Covid-19. This was hours before DC’s scheduled match against Punjab Kings later in the evening. The match however, is likely to go ahead. And will be played with those players whose test reports return negative.
