India tour of England: Indian Team will play two practice matches

India will be going to England in July this year. The teams will play two T20Is and the re-scheduled Test match.

On Saturday it was announced that India will be playing two practice matches on the India tour of England. The Indian team will play the two warm-up matches against Derbyshire and Northamptonshire. Moreover, the matches will be played on July 1st and 3rd respectively. This was confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board later. A secondary Indian team would be playing the matches. Because this match would clash with the fifth Test which was rescheduled earlier.

Last year, the match was postponed because of the Covid-19 scenario. Hence, the series will finally be concluded on this tour. The decisive Test will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Until now, India is leading the indecisive 5-test series. India would be eyeing to win the series on England soil.

Indian team will be playing two practice matches on tour to England

Derbyshire has shared that India would be playing a warm-up match on July 1. While the Indian team would be playing their fifth Test. We can expect to see some new faces playing the warm-up match.

“India will travel to The Incora County Ground to face Derbyshire in a Twenty20 Tour Fixture on Friday 1 July (7 pm start). The number-one ranked T20 side in the world will continue their ICC Twenty20 World Cup preparations against a Derbyshire side”

Whereas the second match will be played at County Ground in Northampton. In the India tour of England, the teams will play 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs, besides the Test. The matches will take place from 1st July to 17th July.

“Northamptonshire will welcome India to Wantage Road this summer for a one-off T20 tour match”

Moreover, India would be touring Ireland before the tour to England. They’ll be playing two T20Is against Ireland on June 26th and 28th respectively.
