Riyan Parag has found himself in many controversies this season. Last night as Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow, he got himself in another controversy. As Riyan took a catch dismissing Stoinis, his gesture was heavily criticized. The 20-year-old has always have a love hate relationship with fans on Twitter. This time even commentators Ian Bishop and Matthew Hayden criticized him. Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden said “I got an advice for you young man, Cricket is very very long game we all have very long memories, never ever tame fate because it comes around quickly”. Riyan Parag was seen mocking third umpire after he wasn’t satisfied with previous decision.

As Riyan Parag attempted to catch Marcus Stoinis at long on, the decision was referred upstairs. The third umpire declared it not out, as the ball had clearly bounced. However, in the final over he ended up dismissing Stoinis by taking an easy catch. However, he got into trouble after having a controversial celebration. He took the ball close to the ground and mocked the third umpire. Probably it was his way of mocking the umpire on previous decision. Akash Chopra, who was in the commentary box at the moment was heard saying “Not fair Riyan, not expected”. Later, Riyan got heavy backlash on the internet for his behavior on field. Fans slammed him for his ‘attitude’. However, he has taken 12 catches this season, which is highest for a non wicket-keeper.
