4) Anrich Nortje (INR 6.5 Crores)

Releasing the pace attack of Kasigo Rabada, Delhi Capitals went on retaining another South-African right-arm fast Anrich Nortje. After making T20I debut in 2019 against India, Anrich played 16 T20 internationals bagging 18 wickets with an economy of 6.75. The speedster has been consistent and efficient in all three formats of international cricket. Anrich has been resolute since his IPL debut in 2020 for DC. Nortje has played 24 matches for his IPL team till date and has taken 34 wickets with a good economy of 7.65. Hence the Delhi franchise has backed his raw pace and retained only one overseas player for a fair 6.5 Crores.

3) Prithvi Shaw (INR 7.5 Crores)

Delhi capitals have shown their trust in the 2018 U-19 ICC World cup winning captain Prithvi Shaw retaining him for 7.5 Crores. Since his IPL debut for Delhi in the year 2018, the right handed aggressive opener has played a crucial role in the team. Batting in the power play overs, Prithvi has played 53 IPL innings scoring 1305 runs with a powerful 146.30 strike rate. In the year 2021, playing against Shivam Mavi of KKR, Shaw became the second batter to hit six boundaries in an over. Though not having played any T20 international, Prithvi is a persistent performer in domestic cricket. Releasing the left arm bellicose opener Shikhar Dhawan, Dc has put all their faith in this dynamic youngster.

2) Axar Patel (INR 9 Crores)

After having faced a stiff competition between the two Delhi spinners Ashwin and Axar, Delhi backed the left-off spinner. Having an IPL experience of no less than 9 seasons, Axar has played 109 matches crushing 95 wickets. Being a balling all-rounder, batting in the lower order Axar has scored 953 runs with a 125.22 strike rate. Appearing in his first T20I against Zimbabwe in 2015, Axar has represented India in 15 T20Is till date bagging 13 wickets. Axar joined Delhi ahead of the 2019 IPL edition before which he played persistently for KXIP for 5 long years. Delhi capitals will look forward and rely on Axar’s capabilities to contribute in the winning cause of every single match of the team.

1) Rishabh Pant (INR 16 Crores)

Releasing Shreyas Iyer, the former captain of Dc, the Delhi franchise delegated the Captainship role to Rishabh Pant. He is the only player to be retained for a handsome package of 16 Crores after the likes of Rohit and Jadeja. The 24 year old wicketkeeper-batsmen has been in limelight whether it is domestic or international cricket. Known for his aggressive batting style and interest in hitting huge sixes, the youngster has played 41 T2OIs since 2017. With a strike rate of 122.87 the left-handed batter scored 623 runs in T20Is and has been brilliant behind the stumps. Since 2018 IPL edition, Rishabh has played 84 IPL innings hitting 2498 with a 147.46 strike rate. Dc has kept their expectations high with the Indian youngster and sees him leading the team win the 15^th IPL title.
