Breaking: Big Blow for CSK as Deepak Chahar Has Been Ruled Out Of IPL 2022

Already down on confidence CSK suffer another huge blow as Deepak Chahar is now officially out of IPL 2022.

Luck is definitely not in defending champions Chennai Super Kings’ favour this season as things are just getting bad to worse for them. CSK’s most expensive signing from the auction, Deepak Chahar, has now been ruled out of IPL 2022 as the pacer suffered a back injury at the NCA. The Super Kings’ fans were desperately waiting for Deepak to return to full fitness as their team finds itself at the bottom of the points table, something which neither the fans nor the team is habitual of. For the first time ever in the history of IPL, CSK have lost their starting four matches.

Deepak Chahar was bought by CSK for a mammoth amount of INR 14 crores at the mega auction in February this year. It was the first time when CSK spent over 10 crores for a player in the IPL auction. Unfortunately for them, Deepak suffered a quadriceps tear during a T20I game against the West Indies the same month. The injury ruled him out of the series and also dismissed the chances of his participation in the series against Sri Lanka.

Earlier, it was reported that Deepak would be able to join the CSK camp by the end of April. However, the fresh injury that Chahar has picked up has completely ruled him out of this season. Ever since the mega auction ended on February 13, it was clear that CSK’s bowling would rely significantly on Deepak’s shoulders but the pacer’s injury came as a huge setback for the defending champions. CSK play their next match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore tonight at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. To keep their qualification hopes alive, Chennai desperately need a win over Bangalore tonight. All eyes would be on skipper Ravindra Jadeja who still eyes his first win as a captain in the IPL.
