In the 6th match of Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022, Pakistan lost to Australia by 7 wickets. Batting first, Pakistan had scored 190 runs. Effortlessly, Australia chased it down in 35 overs. As Bismah Maroof completed her fifty, she celebrated it and dedicated it to her 6-month-old daughter.
The major positive for the Pakistan team was the skipper’s sensational knock. The left-handed batter came to the crease at number 3 and had single-handedly taken the game ahead. However, she didn’t get enough support as wickets kept falling. But, Maroof didn’t let guards down. She went on to score 78 runs staying not out. Only when Aliya Riaz came to the crease, a long partnership was established. After reaching a landmark of 50 runs, Bismah raised her bat towards the spectators. Later, she kept her bat aside and did a special cradle celebration for her 6-month-old daughter. Her little doll was in the stands with her grandmother, witnessing the match.
