Asia Cup 2022: Twitter goes berserk as the duo of Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav hit fifty each against Hong Kong

After a prolonged dry spell across formats, former India skipper Virat Kohli‘s fans breathed a sigh of relief. Kohli today hit his 31st T20I half-century in India’s second match against Hong Kong. Virat’s 59* made him the highest scorer in Asia Cup 2022 till now. Even though Kohli’s innings had room for improvement, this score will definitely boost his confidence, particularly before the ICC T20 World Cup.

At No. 3 in the middle order, Kohli scored 59* (44) in the fifth over at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium to record his 26th T20I half-century at No. 3. This was his 24th in Asia, eighth at a neutral location. He is only second under Rohit Sharma‘s captaincy in 2022 and first against Hong Kong.

He scored a half-century on a pitch that was not easy to bat on. Kohli got to his half-century in 40  balls. Kohli did take some time to settle in but once he had his eyes set, it was a delight for his fans. The batter played shots all around the ground in his inning. He hit two sixes before reaching the 50-run mark and both came off the middle of the bat.
