Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur created a plethora of records. The duo hit twin hundreds to help India post a humongous total of 317/8. It was the 3rd match of Women’s World Cup 2022 against the West Indies at the Seddon Park, Hamilton. After receiving a crushing defeat from the hosts, New Zealand on Thursday, India bounced back stronger to give their critics absolutely no food for thought.
Mandhana hit a blistering 123 off 119 balls while Harmanpreet smashed 109 off 107 balls, hitting 23 boundaries and 4 sixes between them. The two added 184-run stand for the 4th wicket which is the highest partnership for India against West Indies. And also the highest fourth wicket and overall highest partnership in the history of Women’s Cricket World Cups. The partnership stand helped India recover from losing three quick wickets to post a dominant total of 317/8 which is so far the highest total posted by any team in this edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

The pair was also congratulated by the global cricketing fraternity as the wishes poured in from Waseem Jaffer, Sachin Tendulkar, Harsha Boghle, etc.
India will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways after losing their second league stage fixture to New Zealand by a huge margin, after defeating Pakistan in their opener. India had a poor batting display against the Kiwis, losing by 62 runs. The onus will now be on the Indian bowlers to get the job done for the team.
