Jordi Alba’s unforgettable Barcelona career is finally in its swansong with the 34 year-old set to leave the club come the end of season. The La Liga club on Wednesday announced, that an agreement had been reached with Alba to terminate his contract one year in advance.
The Spanish veteran has made 458 appearances for the club since his debut against Real Sociedad all the way back in 2012. His achievements show how influential he’s been for the club with an impressive 19 trophies to his name during his tenure at Barcelona.

Barcelona in their official statement regarding the same said:
“FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its gratitude to Alba for his professionalism, commitment and dedication, and his ever-positive and friendly relationship with all members of the Barca family, and wishes him every fortune in the future.
“Barca will always be a home for you, Jordi.”
Jordi Alba is a true Barcelonan himself, hailing from the city and rising through the La Masia academy before being released in 2015. After his spell in the academy, Alba moved to Valencia and dazzled in his first team career before being brought back by Barcelona in 2012.

He’s been one of the finest servants to the club and its rumored that he opted to leave Camp Nou to help out with Barcelona’s financial struggles. Alba is one of the most beloved members the club and would be glad to end his career at Barca with a La Liga trophy as Captain to his name.
