Juventus’ Turmoil Continues As Decision on Allegri Imminent

Juventus and Allegri have had a complicated relationship, what's next for the club and the manager?

Massimiliano Allegri has in his most recent statements, confirmed his commitment in the coming time to Juventus. Although Allegri is most likely bound to stay, with sacking him just not being a feasible option financially for the club, the final decision will be taken by the board at the end of the season.

Although Allegri is said to be in touch with owner John Elkann constantly, who he maintains a close relationship with, there have been issues at the club which have left a sour taste. The appointment of Cristiano Giuntoli against the recommendation of Allegri being one of them. Rumors regarding other head coaches such as Igor Tudor and Raffaele Palladino haven’t helped issues at the helm either.

With Juventus facing another 10 point deduction, resulting in them dropping out a Champions League spot, Allegri continues to be under immense scrutiny. An unattractive philosophy regarding his football and inability to use players like Dusan Vlahovic and Angel di Maria to the best of their abilities is another problem plaguing Allegri’s team. Juventus has seen its veterans have a falling out with the manager and the locker room atmosphere seems concerning.

Elkann is bound to take stock of all parties involved and come to a decision at the end of the season. Allegri currently has 2 years left on his current deal with €5M annual wages to his name. After a horror loss against Empoli on the weekend, Allegri reaffirmed his decision by stating it would be “cowardly” to leave Juventus at this point.
