Last season’s runner-up Rajasthan Royals is going to explode again this season. From the sweet dreams to being a nightmare for the opposition, RR is once again doing well in the points table sitting on top with 3 wins in 4 matches. Also looking to write the script to become the winner of IPL 2024 for the second time.
Rajasthan Royals came close but finished as the second best after GT. Butler was the leading run scorer with 863 runs in 17 matches (average 57.53 & strike rate 149.05). Also, hit 4 hundred and 4 fifties. With 27 wickets in 17 innings, Chahal was the leading wicket-taker.
Rajasthan Royals: contender for IPL 2024 Champions?
This season too RR looks like early favourites to win the IPL with their performances so far. RR’s main strength lies in its batting line-up as well as in the spinners. The opening pair of Buttler and Jaiswal already have five partnerships of a half-century or more having two highest stands of 98 runs and 85 runs in 4 matches in the current season.
Skipper Sanju Samson, Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, and Dhruv Jurel also chipped in with important contributions.

The average inning total of RR is 192 runs so far. If Buttler gives a good start, then Hetmyer might give a good finish. Buttler scored 204 runs in 5 matches at an average of 41 with 3 fifties. With a batting average of 124, Hetmyer is at the top of the batting average list. Also, he has scored 180 runs in 5 matches while batting at number 6 in the death overs.
RR also has the best bowling figures. Trent Boult with international experience made early collapses in the opponent team. Jason Holder is managing the absence of Prasidh Krishna along with Kuldeep Sen. With the experienced Indian duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal and Australian Adam Zampa, RR’s spin department is more powerful.
These trios play an important role in the middle over. The role of these trios could be seen against the CSK match. Where Ashwin (2/25 & 30 off 22) played a key role along with Chahal (2/27) and Adam Zampa (1/43). Yuzvendra Chahal is the second-highest wicket-taker so far with 10 wickets in 4 innings (economy 7.4). They recently pulled off a heist against the Gujrat Titans.

Even further, if Rajasthan Royals maintain such performance, then they can be the main challenger of the IPL 2024. They can end the trophy drought too.
