RR and Rajasthan Cricket Association join hands to organize Rajasthan Royals Women’s Cup. To provide a platform to young female cricketers in the state of Rajasthan. On 15 September, Royals Sports Group-owned IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals announced the launch of this women’s T20 competition.
Rajasthan Royals Women’s Cup 2022 Schedule
The competition will commence on 16 September and terminate on 19 September in the city of Jodhpur. However, a one-day trial will be held on 16th September, followed by six league matches along with the final from 17th to 19th September. The inaugural edition will consist of six teams. Each team will represent the six major cities of Rajasthan- ‘Jaipur Warriors’, ‘Udaipur Thunderbolts’, ‘Jodhpur Gladiators’, ‘Ajmer Blazers’, ‘Kota Mavericks’, and ‘Bikaner Strikers’. Every team will accord a total of 25 players. While 15 players will be shortlisted at the Spartans Cricket Academy Ground, Uchiyarda, post the trial. The trial process will be overseen by Royals’ Head of High-Performance Operations Romi Bhinder.

Along with the trial, the league matches and final take place at the Spartans Cricket Academy Ground, Uchiyarda. RR’s explosive all-rounder Riyan Parag and local hero Shubham Garwal are set to be present for the Final.
Rajasthan Royals CEO, Jake Lush McCrum said,
“Transforming society through cricket is our overarching purpose as a franchise, and with the RR Women’s Cup 2022, we are delighted to be bringing such an exciting opportunity to the talented girls of our home state with the support of the Rajasthan Cricket Association. With as many as 150 players from across the state expected to participate in the tournament, we are sure to witness some intense battles on the field and also identify potential talents that could be part of the state and national team, as well the Women’s IPL in the future.”
Moreover, all the matches will be live-streamed on CricHeroes, an Indian cricket streaming platform. This is a great initiative taken by the Rajasthan-based cricket authorities head of the Women’s Seniors T20 Domestic tournament held by BCCI. Much like the Women’s IPL, this will also provide a platform for the women cricketers to showcase their talent and attract national selectors.
