The Irish cricketer who went on to not just live his dream of playing for England, but also captained the team for 126 ODIs and 72 T20Is has now decided to hit the hay. Eoin Morgan retires from international cricket after an extended search for form, struggling from injuries. The two-time world cup winning member has called the 2019 WC the ‘performance highlight’ of his career. Moreover, Morgan is stepping down as the most capped English player in both One Day Internationals and T20 internationals. In addition, he is the leading run-scorer for England in both limited-overs formats.

To call time on what has been without a doubt the most enjoyable and rewarding chapter of my career hasn’t been an easy decision, but I believe now is the right time to do so, both for me, personally, and for both England white-ball sides I have led to this point.”
