Malahide Cricket Club owned The Village is a cricket ground in Dublin which was founded way back in 1861. It is claimed to be one of Ireland’s best sporting infrastructures to have been built. It is now the biggest ground in Ireland. It is also the third stadium of Ireland to get international recognition. The stadium is capable of holding approximately 11,500 spectators. It also has a hospitality pavilion with a capacity of 650 and a 100-seater press box.

The ground has a boundary length ranging from 60 metres to 65 metres.

Stadium History

Malahide Cricket Club was founded in 1861. The 5th Baron Talbot of Malahide, Richard Wogan Talbot, was fond of cricket and established a cricket ground in the grounds of Malahide Castle. It would be over a century later when major cricket would first be played at Malahide on 3 September 2013 between Ireland and England. England won by six wickets after captain Eoin Morgan hit 124 not out on what had been his home ground in his youth.
