Earlier this year, Babar Azam reached a milestone by scoring 4000 ODI runs. He became the 15th Pakistan batter to achieve the feat. The Pakistani skipper has been in his career best form breaking records and reaching milestones. Babar Azam is the second fastest player to reach the feat scoring 4000 runs in just 82 innings. While achieving the feat he left legends like Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Viv Richards, and Brian Lara. Hashim Amla scored 4000 runs in 81 innings. The 27-year-old batter is currently ranked 1st in ODI and T20Is. In addition, Some also believe him to be better than King Kohli. Now, Babar Azam is the only player with more than 4000 runs to have an average of over 60.
Among all the players with more than 4000 ODI runs, Babar Azam is the only one to have an average of over 60. The only two players ranking higher than Babar in overall ODI average but neither have scored even 2000 runs. Whereas, Virat Kohli ranks just below in overall ODI average. But Virat has a gigantic 12311 runs in ODI at an average of 58.07. Babar has been leading the Pakistan side since 2019 and the team has been rising well under him. It was only Babar that has led Pakistan to its first against India in a World Cup in the T20 WC 2021.
