This is probably Virat’s worst IPL season as he can clearly be seen struggling with form. Yesterday, as RCB locked horns with SRH, Virat Kohli again walked back at a duck. This is the first time Virat had been dismissed at a duck thrice in a tournament. It was a long walk back to the dressing room for Kohli. And his disappointment was quite evident from his facial expressions. However, Kohli being the team man he is, bowed to Dinesh Karthik as he walked back finishing the first inning with style. Fans were heartbroken to see Virat walk back with dejection on his face. However, he was hailed for supporting his teammates and praising them openly for their performances, even when he is clearly struggling. Coach Sanjay Bangar won hearts as he hugged and comforted Virat Kohli.
Sanjay Bangar has a long association with Kohli. Before being appointed as RCB’s head coach this season. Earlier, Bangar had been the Indian team’s batting coach. In addition, Bangar has been India’s head coach for a tour to Zimbabwe in 2016. Rahane, Kohli, and Rohit have openly talked about how Bangar has been instrumental in their good performances during his tenure. Being well aware of how Kohli is been struggling with his batting in the last couple of months. Bangar knows how difficult it must be for the star-batter. The way IPL 2022 has been going, Virat’s confidence must surely be affected.
