Taylor Fritz criticises the off-court coaching rule and called it a “Dumb rule”

Taylor Fritz is not liking the new coaching rule applied on July 11.

The American No. one, Taylor Fritz highly criticised the off-court coaching rule and called it a “Dumb rule”. Taylor defeated the 2022 Wimbledon finalist, Nick Krygios in the round of 32 on August 18. In the post-interview, when asked about his thoughts on the new rule of getting coaching off the court, he was unhappy with the decision.

The rule of coaching in court has been allowed on July 11, 2022. Even though this rule has not been given much light to date, this has been always a controversial topic for some few players. Daniil Medvedev has a handful of times called out the coaching served to Stefanos Tsitsipas on the court. It is frequently heard of him to be annoyed with Stefanos Tsitsipas getting coaching during matches. However, Taylor Fritz feels somehow similar to Medvedev in respect to getting coaching.
