An annual tennis event played amongst countries all over the world. The Davis Cup 2022 is already in motion at the knock-out rounds. This tournament is organised by the International Tennis Federation, also, 18 countries participate in this event.

However, this year the defending champion, Russia, has been suspended from all international team competitions. Some of the big players will be under vision during the 2022 Davis Cup, however, few will be majorly missed, such as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and many more. 5 Players to look out for in Davis Cup 2022

Andy Murray

Andy Murray is one of the most appeared players in Great Britain, as he is appearing for the 12th time this year. The 2015 Davis Cup champion, Great Britain, has their solid pillar yet again this year. In 2006, Murray gave a huge lead for the team against Ukraine (3:2) by winning two singles matches in straight sets. The 35-year-old has never disappointed his team in the Davis Cup until 2014 when he lost against Fabio Fognini.

In the presence of Andy Murray, for the first time, Great Britain made it to the 2015 Davis Cup final. Therefore, Andy had a huge part in winning his team because he played three matches in the finals against Belgium. Murray has an impressive record of 40-8 win-loss overall through these years of his participation. He dominated completely over his opponents in the singles format as he lost just 3 matches out of 34 played.

Murray will pair with World No. 1 in doubles, Salisbury in the doubles ahead of the tournament. Great Britain will commence the World Cup of Tennis against the USA in the 2022 Davis Cup in the group stage on 14, September.

Casper Ruud

The World No. 2 and the first Norwegian player to reach US Open final, Casper Ruud will be appearing for the 8th time. He debuted at the age of 17 years in 2015 and he won all his matches the same year. Nevertheless, Ruud aid his team to reach the 2016 quarter-final but unfortunately, lost it against Luxembourg.

Casper Ruud will be a very tough competitor this year after an unbelievable quarter of the year with two historical finals in two majors. However, Ruud lost a match against the Kazakh player, Alexander Bublik resulting team loss against Kazakhistan.

Norway will take on Team India in the Group stage level on 16 and 17 September in Norway.

Jannik Sinner

Italian No. 1, Sinner will be joining his teammates for the second time in the Davis Cup. As he has no major experience in this team format, especially with team Italy, therefore, he has only won singles rather than any doubles.

Jannik Sinner was seen practising for the next group stage match of the 2022 Davis Cup.

Jannik Sinner has not yet lost any singles match against any opponent, therefore, with a clear record of 5-0. However, Sinner has been unable to mould into doubles as he lost all three matches he played as a double. He is presently in the top gear of his professional career which can be very competitive for every opponent he faces.

After a huge disappointment in the US Open quarter-final with a five-set loss, he is highly capable of winning many matches against World’s top players.

Carlos Alcaraz

The reigning US Open champion and World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz gladly debut team Spain for the 2022 Davis Cup. He already registered his first win on debut against Marius Copil of Romania adding to the win of Team Spain. However, it is confirmed he will be continuing to play for Spain even though, after a rough and tired two weeks.

He will resume playing for Spain in September, moreover, he begin his practice in Valencia. Potentially, Carlos Alcaraz has improved very much in the last few months, additionally, his captivating athletism is a huge factor in his wins. This will be the first time he will be representing Spain at the age of 19.

Matteo Berrettini

Equally important for Team Italy, Matteo Berrettini will also help his teammates to win their first Davis Cup since 1976. He will play for the second time after his debut in 2019 with only a single win against playing India. In spite of his average performance last year, he still is one of the toughest opponents of Italy to be played.

World No. 15 already began his Davis Cup with an exquisite win against Croatia. He can be very dangerous on the court, especially, on hard court.
