Casper Ruud’s father, Christian Ruud, was a Top 50 professional tennis player. Christian reached his career-high No. 39 in the Emirates ATP Rankings on 9 October 1995. Christan finished his career with 115 tour-level victories.
(2) He Scored His First ATP Win At A 500 Tournament
Rudd’s first victory came in his third ATP World Tour tournament, which was in the 2020 Argentina Open. Ruud defeated Pedro Sousa in the final, thus becoming the first tennis player from Norway to win an ATP Tour title.
(3) Rudd is on a rapid rise
2021 was the year for Rudd as he won 4 Titles that year, that is 2021 Geneva Open,2021 Swedish Open, Swiss Open 2021 and 2021 Generali Open Kitzbühel. Rudd also made his dirst apperance in 2021 ATP Finals. Ruud reached the semifinals after losing to Novak Djokovic. Ruud finished the year 2021 with a bang, as he was ranked World No. 8 in the singles rankings.
(4) Rudd has been training in Rafa Nadal Academy since 2018
Casper Rudd when asked after his win agaisnt Marin Čilić in the Semi Final about facing Rafeal Nadal in the Final, he mentioned that he can’t think of a bette way to face his idol. In 2018 Ruud landed a ticket to Rafa Nadal Academy in Manacor to train with the coaches and gain some insight about his game.
(5) Ruud is already a rising star in Norway
Norwegians have Martin Odegaard, who plays for Real Madrid, as well as one of the best skiers in the world. But Rudd rise to fame made Norweigns even interested in tennis. Rudd has also previously mentioned about how Norwegians really like to see young, home-grown talent making progress.
