Florida: Scottsdale-born Matthew Tkachuk rewrote a Florida Panthers record as the Cats defeated Blackhawks at FLA Live Arena. Florida Panthers beat Chicago Blackhawks by staging a comeback in the third period, 4-3.
Matthew Tkachuk has scored 28 goals this season. He has also assisted 56 times so far, totaling 84 points. The American now holds the record for the most number of points in their first season for Florida Panthers. The 25-year-old has 28 Multi-Point games, 57 EVP, 33 Penalties Drawn, and 90 PIMS. In addition to the most point record, Matthew Tkachuk is currently sitting fourth in most single assists in a season for the Panthers.

Matthew has scored 56 assists, 19 shy of the first position. The record is held by veteran Jonathan Huberdeau, who scored 85 assists in 80 games in 2021-22. Although, Matthew can overtake Aleksander Barkov’s 61 (in 2018-19) and Huberdeau’s 62 (in 2018-19) if continues the same form.
Matthew Tkachuk is also on track to beat Alex Ovechkin’s record of 31 MPGs in their first season for a team. He is currently tied with Artemi Panarin in the third position. Tkachuk came to Panthers from Calgary Flames on July 22, 2022. Florida traded star Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, and Cole Schwindt and a lottery-protected first-round pick in 2025 for Tkachuk in 2022.
Matthew Tkachuk signed an eight-year contract valued at $76 million dollar prior to joining the Panthers. Undoubtedly, Tkachuk has been an absolute teaspoon of magic to the Panthers.
The Panthers are currently fourth in the Atlantic Division, trailing the Lightning by 10 points. They are ninth overall in the Eastern Conference. With a couple more games left in the season, The Panthers have a great chance to qualify for the Play-Offs.
