The transfer of Goncalo Guedes from the Spanish side Valencia to Wolverhampton Wanderers has just been completed as the Premier League side announced his signing last night in a deal which is worth around 30 Million Euros. He arrived in England the day before yesterday for his medical, after which the club announced the deal in which they had signed the Portuguese international. Valencia have again sold one of their best players as Guedes joins the list of Joao Cancelo, Ferran Torres and Dani Parejo who have been sold by the La Liga side in the past few years.

The Spanish have even taken a loss on this deal in order to complete as they had signed the Portuguese on a club record fee of 40 Million Euros from PSG in the year 2018 after the Portuguese had played for the Spanish side on a loan deal. Last season the winger was one of the best performers in an average Valencia side who despite reaching the Copa Del Rey final, finished 9th in La Liga. It was the 5th tie in the last 7 seasons where they failed to get any European football. Guedes scored 13 goals including the winner against Atletico Madrid in the semi-final of the Copa Del Rey.
Last season was his best season as it was his highest goal tally year and that brought him to 66 goal contributions in 5 years with the club. He has appeared to be played on the left-wing quite often but he is comfortable playing on the other flank too as well as being behind the striker and being the striker as well. Wolves had finished in the top 10 last season but had scored just 38 goals with Raul Jimenez being the top scorer as he scored just 6 goals. This clearly states that the Premier League side needs attacking options and it would be interesting to see whether or not Guedes can provide the goals that they need.
