22-year-old Danish attacking midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard has reportedly completed a move to English club Brentford for a €15 million deal, as reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
He has become the second Danish attacking midfielder to play for the Bees in as many transfer windows, after current Manchester United player Christian Eriksen joined Brentford from Inter Milan in January 2020.
Mikkel Damsgaard’s Career So Far
After playing football in his hometown of Jyllinge, the scouts of FC Nordsjælland signed him on a youth contract. He made his debut for the Tigrene in September 2007 at the age of 17, assisting a goal in a 4-0 win against Vejgaard BK in a Danish Cup game.
Damsgaard signed a four-year contract with Italian club Sampdoria in the 2020 summer transfer window for a fee of around €6.7 million. He scored his first goal for I Blucerchiati in a 3-0 win against rivals Lazio in October 2020.
