Cristiano Ronaldo has indeed requested to leave Manchester United and several media outlets around the world have backed this astonishing news. It is also now believed that his agent Jorge Mendes is already out in the transfer market in order to find a suitable club for him. Since this news has come out it has been devastating for Manchester United supporters cause if Ronaldo leaves, then they only have Martial as an outright striker and maybe even Rashword but Ten Hag doesn’t see him in his plans. United even sold Cavani and missed out on the opportunity on sign Darwin Nunez, so now either they need to try to convince the Portuguese to stay or soon find a replacement for him.
The main reason that’s driving Ronaldo out of United is that he thinks he would not be able to compete in the best competitions in this team and especially the UCL, he wants to spend the last few years of his career competing at the highest level in a well established and strong team who can win titles. A few months back he agreed to stay at United cause the board assured him that they’d make a competitive team next season but Ronaldo got frustrated with the lack of transfer activity that they are doing cause United missed out on the likes of Dembele, Haaland, Nunez, Declan Rice and now maybe even Frenkie De Jong cause last night Barcelona’s President has said that they have no intention of selling the Dutchman. So the transfer of De Jong which was the most likely has also been broken down and now United are left with nothing.
Nevertheless, if Ronaldo does leave, it would surely be a financial boost for the Red Devils cause currently the striker earns around 500,000 Euros per week and this makes a total of around 25 Million Pounds a season, so they can even let him leave for free and use that money to sign someone else. But about Ronaldo, the most likely destination that he can go to is Bayern Munich cause they are in a situation where have to sell their star man Lewandoski and if indeed they do sell him, Ronaldo could be a direct swap for the Polish striker. All in all, it would be interesting to see if Ronaldo does end up staying at Manchester or not.
